AHA122 PEARS Provider – Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization
During this course students will learn how to:
- Improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers with an assessment, early recognition, prompt communication, and initial intervention in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest
- Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) consistent with AHA guidelines
- Evaluate a seriously ill or injured child by using the pediatric systemic approach
- Apply effective team dynamics
- Demonstrate initial stabilization of seriously ill or injured child, including a child with cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or shock
